Sadly… unexpectedly the owners of the community blindsided everyone by closing. Retreat was such a special place and a hidden gem among assisted living communities. The staff and executive director truly cared. What they did crushed us. I would never trust a Phoenix community again. Such a terrible thing they did to everyone. Literally 3 weeks after we moved in they told everyone they were closing. Someone moved in the day before. The owners didn’t even have the decency to let their staff know. Such a shame. I can’t express how happy I am that we found Retreat. We recently moved our mom in and she is thriving. Tammie, the Executive Director, and everyone that works with her care deeply for the residents. They create engaging activities, are warm and compassionate in their interactions - it’s such a blessing to be surrounded by so much love and care. My husband and I stopped by this assisted living facility for a tour. We have a friend who is looking for a one bedroom apartment. The executive director, Tammie Barker and her staff were wonderful. She gave us an excellent tour and an overview of the facility services. They have wonderful adult activities and my friend, if she chooses this facility would be comfortable and cared for here. Definitely 5 stars.
