Vidal Sassoon Academy is NOT all it's cracked up to be! Buyer Beware! I will never again pay money to have to sit through a butt-numbing 6 + hours of torture (TWICE!) for a half a head of highlights. The first time the color was wrong and my hair at the roots was noticably darker than the rest. The instructor would leave the room for long periods of time in between small bouts of supervision. She did help a few students place one or two foils but failed to come over to students doing my hair knowing that I had been there the... read more
Great!!! I actually went to school at Sassoon Academy and i have had nothing but great cuts and color. i know a lot of people complain about how long it takes, but you are notified when you are making an appointment. it takes 3-4 hours because they're all students learning but in the end you will get a great haircut or color. do not be upset if your student stylist is not talking to you very much, its because they are probably nervous. it is a scary thing doing some ones hair. just be nice to them and they will usually light... read more
Decent cut.....takes waaaay toooo long!! Even a decent haircut is not worth 4 hours!!! Once you don your cape, you are shampooed and then taken to a room. There are several do's being done at the same time...students are supervised by instructor.
A decent cut, but don't expect customer service My stylist treated me like a "subject" and didn't speak to me much, except to tell me where to go for the shampoo. I was put in the "Contemporary" room, probably because I look young. They don't listen to what you want in a style. Instead, they're there to try out techniques that they have in mind. I ended up getting a haircut that was way shorter than I wanted it to be. I was hoping for a mid-length haircut and ended up with a variation of a bob. I know hair grows back, but I ... read more
A Good and cheap haircut This is a great place to go if you need an inexpensive cut, but still want to be stylish. It's technically a school, but most of the stylists there are from other salons. They are just there to learn the Vidal Sasson style/method of cutting hair. There is an instructor that goes around the room making sure everyone is doing alright. If your in a hurry this is not the place to go. Since they are learning they take their time and it could take up to 4 hours for a cut.
cheap haircut This is a good place to get a haircut for about 20 dollars. Be forewarned it takes about 3-4 hours. The student has to get their instructors' approval and therefore they soend a lot of time waiting and not too much time cutting. I have always gotten good cuts here. They cut men and womens hair and also do haircolor. They sometimes have a coupon in the la weekly for a haircut for 10 dollars. A great deal not to be missed.
Slow but Inexpensive Since it's nearly impossible to get an inexpensive haircut in LA (see my review for The Cut), I got my first LA haircut at Vidal Sassoon Academy for about $25.
Vidal Sassoon Academy has a 3.9 star rating with 52 reviews.
Vidal Sassoon Academy is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
