A Better Way hired a new receptionist. From my experience, she is compassionate. She is helpful.
I needed shelter from my drunk dad and the latina woman on the phone said I wasn't experiencing domestic violence because I was in their house. I needed a place to stay and they responded with skepticism, and I even heard a little contempt in her voice. So I got sexually assaulted and physically battered instead. I hope you get the same mercy you showed me.
We needed some help filling out paperwork, and we were recommended to this place. It was very helpful, and we got everything we needed.

I was able to get in contact with UNITY home where we found safety, compassion, and staff who really cared and understood The trauma that myself and my children, as well as other women and children were going through.
