First and foremost, Viamede is a family friendly resort. It’s a place for kids and dogs and babies and grandparents. The emphasis is on having a holiday your way. Take part in an organized activity with your kids, or just lay on the beach and watch them play. There’s canoes, kayaks, paddle boarding and tubing. My extended family and I just spent a wonderful week at Viamede with children ages 8 months to 11 years. This resort is an absolute gem and exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a laid-back, kid- and dog-friendly environment with caring staff and endless activities, Viamede is for you. We were there for a family event. The resort was disappointing. While they are working on it, a whipper snipper would help. A family meal was terrible. Everything that was supposed to be hot was cold. For $35 a plate we were served two pasta dishes, with a tiny bit of ground beef in one, a salad, tough bread and store bought squares served buffet style. The buffet ran out of food and was not replenished until everyone had eaten dessert. Too little, too late.

I called booked a weekend stay arriving June 29 and leaving July 1. Over the phone I was told the rate is 370 per night. After my call, I double checked the website. The advertised rate on their website is $300 per night from Victoria Day to Canada Day. The rate is $370 per night from Canada Day to Labour Day. When I disputed the rates because I booked my stay between Victoria Day and Canada Day, the best the general manager Nikki offered was to waive my cancellation fee if I cancelled.
