I rescued my dog three months ago from the Johnston County Animal Rescue and have established a relationship with a local veterinary office, however late on Saturday night I noticed that my dog was behaving oddly and immediately became concerned. My vet's office was closed and I didn't know where to turn. I found a VSH location nearby and called in to discuss my options with their staff. My call was answered immediately and I spoke with a very helpful staff member who walked me through my options on next steps for my puppy. ... read more
Will never go here again they only care about how they can manipulate people out of their money. I went there with a puppy that had already had multiple seizures within a short amount of time and was very lethargic. After they took the puupy to the back they said his vitals were good and neurological tests were good making it seem like he was going to be ok. They said they wanted to run more tests and said I needed to leave a $400 deposit after I did that the y called me a half hour later to tell me he needed to be euthanize... read more
Look elsewhere for vet services – We took our dog to this vet with a condition where his chest was filling up with fluid. After multiple visits, several scans, and drainage of the fluid, we were told that the dog might live through the weekend based upon a growth in his chest that was pushing on his heart. They offered us the option of putting him down immediately, or taking him home to "say goodbye" for his final weekend of life. We opted for the "goodbye weekend." That weekend turned into a week, and then two weeks, and th... read more
knowledgeable, compassionate vet and staff – My dog received exceptional care at VSH. We had called ahead, and there was no wait-time. Records from her primary vet had already been transferred over by the time we arrived. Every staff member we met, from the front desk to the nurses, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. We had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Waddle, who was amazing. He spent a good deal of time examining my dog and answering all my questions. My dog is typically very anxious with vets, but (much ... read more
Compassionate and Professional – After our cat fell ill, we took him to VSH. Our sweet cat was a big part of our family and we loved him dearly. It was a really difficult time and the team here was incredibly compassionate. They all instantly fawned over and loved him and made us feel confident that they were going to take very good care of him. We were invited to the back area to see where our kitty would stay, again, adding to our comfort level and we were welcomed to come visit him often. We were also impressed that the n... read more
Awesome vet with 24 hour emergency services! – I love this place. They treat your animal with love and respect and don't "over sell." I would highly recommend them both for emergencies and general vet care.
Go elsewhere – We went to the Cary location and while the facilities were impressive the exorbitant costs and complete lack of follow-up were not.
Dr. David Lee was very arrogant and unfeeling. – Veterinarian was very arrogant, seemed very unfeeling. I had my dog in for an initial consult for surgery. Dr. David Lee was the surgeon that I had my appt with. He didn't answer any of my questions clearly. Kept saying that dog needed surgery. Wouldn't discuss any other options. My dog had been lame for a month or so, and I believed he just needed stronger medications than at his regular vet. Dr. Lee wanted to operate on his leg, but wouldn't at all discuss medications. I rea... read more
Not recommended for specialty vet care. – Vet care was far below average for a specialty referral clinic. Front desk personel were not competent. Long waits in the clinic as well as on the phone. Staff was not able to provide clients with important updates of patients that were admitted to the clinic. Return calls were promised but never performed. The only efficient personel were from the billing department, who were able to provide daily detailed updates of the costs. Doctors wrongly diagnosed my pet, were not aware of sta... read more
