Thank you to the entire staff who saved Nanook’s life! On 3/18 my father and my 16.5 year old, 25 pound dog were mauled by two pitbulls that were over 90 pounds each. When we got him there, I did not know the extent of his injuries, his head was just covered in blood. Nanook suffered severe wounds to his head, face, and neck, including skull fractures, cervical vertebrae fractures, a degloving injury to his left ear, and nerve damage to his right eye. Unfortunately, my sweet cat suffered Saddle Thrombus and had to be euthanized. I was a complete mess from the moment I entered VEG and don’t even know if what I said while I was there made any sense. All I know is that everyone on staff was so kind, patient, understanding, and professional during one of the worst moments of my life. I miss my boy more than anything and I’ll never get over the trauma he experienced. I’m just grateful I was able to get him to VEG quickly so that his suffering wasn’t prolonged.
