Staying at 4131 Merlane. Booked through VRBO. The fridge is broken (lights are on, no cooling function). A tray of moldy food covered with foil was in the cabinet with “clean” dishes. No remote for the TV. Most of the furniture is damaged, some to the extent of being unusable. The bed smells like urine. Pool cues are broken with no felt tips. The house is dingy. 4139 Merlane in the “beautiful” Sugar Creek area of Charlotte, was your worst vacation house rental nightmare. The location is embedded in an area of suspected crime and the like are presumably prevalent. Do not be fooled by the modern elevation of the home. Inside we arrived to used quips, stained mattresses, unusable furniture, small tvs without remotes, spider webs throughout, lifting floor panels, dirty bathtubs and showers, and dirty floors. I had an awful experience booking with this company through airbnb. 48 hours after making a reservation, a close family member passed away. I immediately contacted the host asking what options I had as I would have to return home for the funeral services and would not be able to use my reservation. The response was basically, sorry but too bad. I would only get refunded less than half of what I paid.
