I review honestly, so I'm going to do so here. I had high hopes for this company but am severely disappointed. I chose Vertical to build a house on my land because of their 5-star rating & appearance as one the best builders in the area. Things started out great. Keegan was my sales rep and she was very friendly, outgoing, and helpful. As time went on, however, that changed, seemingly because she was overwhelmed and on her way out. We’ve been living here for nearly half a year and I’m still impressed with the craftsmanship. The insulation works great because the house stays quiet even during storms. During construction, the project manager answered texts quickly and explained inspection steps clearly. One closet door needed adjusting after closing, but warranty service handled it without any hassle or long waiting periods.

Is zero stars an option After a year and half of exhausting “collaboration” on a custom home we were hit with a bill 300k above our contract price and learned that the builder had stopped building without notifying us (three months out from move in). Owner is unprofessional, dishonest, irascible, and immature. You may have a contract, but he will suddenly pull a temper tantrum akin to a feverish toddler when his overpriced bid does not appraise. Especially disrespectful to veterans

Dramatic increase in estimated build cost vs cost given after house plans were drafted and due diligence paid. We were told that our plans were being worked on to decrease cost but nobody ever got back to us. We backed out of build and asked for a portion of paid amount refunded to us but they would not work with us. Keegan was great but she left right before the issues started.
