First off... If you are reading this and considering to call the Bluffs... just DO IT. You will not regret it!! My time at the Bluffs was great. The counselors and staff were all very helpful in my recovery process and still are! It's been over a year since I've been to the Bluffs and I'm sober today and still in contact with Brandon, the alumni coordinator. The Bluffs is an amazing place, everyone is so helpful and caring about every individual that walks through the doors. My experience at The Bluffs was life-changing. It was a good balance structure with some space to still feel moments of freedom. I will say that I lucked out with my therapist. He was perfect for me. The counselors, recovery coaches and staff were all friendly and pretty great for the most part. Like anything you get what you put in and finding that connection was important for me in my recovery.
The Bluffs saved my life—period. When I showed up here, I was numb. I couldn’t feel anything. I didn’t know who I was without drinking, and honestly? I didn’t even know if I wanted to find out. Upon arrival at the bluffs I was nervous lost and afraid of what my life was coming to. I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff and well as patients. They immediately started working with me to learn about addiction. The knowledge that I learned and the help I received was phenomenal. Today I am 197 days sober and life is a beautiful thing today.
