It’s the most peaceful place I have ever been in America
Our stay at the Vermont house was a pleasant surprise. The host was attentive and gave some great recommendations for the area. It's centrally located , I would definitely stay again or suggest this place to anyone traveling in the area.
Be warned; the Vermont House is right on the road (Route 9) and the noise and vibration from the continuous, all-night heavy truck traffic is terrible. That ruined my visit; not pleasant.
The Vermont House was outstanding. Aesthetically it is beautiful—the owners have woven modern comforts into the property while faithfully retaining its 1850s charm, making it welcoming, cozy, and comfortable. The location is also superb—free parking across the street and walking distance to all of the wonderful things downtown Wilmington has to offer. This adorable place looks like something from a hallmark movie! The host was attentive, rooms were clean, and check in was a breeze. We found parking right outside of the building. My only issue with our stay (and this is entirely out of their control) was the noise and vibration from tractor trailer trucks. The building sits very close to the road and every time a truck drove through, which happened all night, the entire building shook and it was very loud.
