I didn't actually visit. I called for an appointment because my son was involved in an accident that cut 4 fingers to the bone. The woman who answered the phone was rather rude, only concerned about insurance, and talked so much I couldn't get a word in edgewise. Dr. Esplin's reviews are really good and I'll bet he's a good Dr., but how staff treats prospective patients is important, and it was NOT a good experience.

As a retired surgical RN it is my opinion that Dr. Esplin is an excellent, skilled surgeon and caring provider. He took the time to listen to me, care in the examation of my hand and arm and full explantion of the options and risks related to my problem. All of this occurred before he knew I am a registered nurse. The surgery was successful and I have the full use of my hand: no numbness, tingling, burning or pain. I highly recommend Dr. Esplin and the Idaho Hand Institute.
I was an anesthesiologist in the OR with Dr Esplin and worked with him on a regular basis. I found him to be thoroughly capable and methodical surgeon as well as a friendly and genial individual well liked by staff.He operative style was deliberate, well planned, speedy and efficient. I regarded him as a doctor's doctor, ie., a doctor who ther doctors sought out.
