I recently visited the Verizon store in Norfolk, VA, and I am utterly disgusted by the treatment I received. As a Black American, I was blatantly racially profiled from the moment I walked in. The staff’s demeanor shifted noticeably when they saw me—eyeing me with suspicion instead of offering the same welcoming service I saw them provide to other customers. If you ever have to stop at this store make sure you see A-Aron. He is the sales/tech person who will assist you with all your needs and knows how to pronounce your name. This is one of the reasons why I love Verizon because of the customer service.
