At a time when I just went through a move to be closer to my children and also while I'm in the middle of a custody case and need every penny, Veridian has seen fit to not only create additional overdraft fees (which were caused by unauthorized debits) by processing charges out of order but has also refused to admit their error and reverse their charges. Deceptive Loan Practices – We have banked with Veridian for a number of years now, and were very happy with them in the past. A year ago we decided to obtain a home equity loan from Veridian. When we went to close the loan, among the many pages of paperwork we were required to sign was a page agreeing to a Payment Protection insurance. We asked about it, and saw that it was grossly overpriced, and we would not have even been able to use it as my husband is self-employed. We stated that we did not want it. Great Rates and low fees I signed up for accounts with this credit union because of the free checking, free check card, and good interest rates. I also love the free feature that if my checking account has an overdraft the money is automatically transferred from the savings account. The name recently changed to Veridian Credit Union and they are expanding to more locations in Cedar Rapids.
John Deere (Veridian) Credit Union I have been a member of this bank for over 20 years! This is the bank that I went with for my first Kirby savings account, my first car loan, and our first home loan.
