Just completed the 10 day accelerated IFR course. This is definitely the way to train. The instructor was excellent and training intensively not only makes learning IFR easier, I found it fun and I'm a much better pilot for the training. A previous instructor completed his CFII here and enthusiastically recommended that I do the 10 day accelerated course here. He was right. It is a well run training center and I highly recommend it. I have to say that this place is beyond incredible. My wife and I are both recently retired and relatively new pilots and came here to complete our IFR training. Venture North is spectacular in what all they offer. Its not like a puppy mill where they turn out mediocre private pilots. The ten days we were here, it was only IFR, Commercial, CFI and CFII students in training. This is representative of the level of teaching that goes on here. I would highly recommend Venture North for CFI training. The instructors are super knowledgeable and easy to work with. The CFI-A program is very intense as the program demands alot from the student. The owner, Bill, is a super nice guy and he wants to see everyone succeed. Plan on more than 5 days if you plan to do your checkride with Venture North. The aircraft are in great shape and well taken care of. There is never any problem with availability of instructors or aircraft.
