I had been sick with flu like symptoms, usually I don’t go to the doctor but this time was rough. I scheduled an appointment same day, and I was in there for less than an hour. Took a little longer only to wait for the test swabs, totally reasonable. Left with a diagnosis and a prescription. Will visit again for future aliments.

Within the span of a month, I’ve had two negative experiences. I accompanied a friend to this Urgent Care with vomiting and diarrhea. We were told by the receptionist we should go to the ER. Then, I referred a friend who cut the tip of her finger, leaving her finger nail hanging off and possibly needing stitches. She was also turned away by reception. In these two “urgent” not critical situations, the folks I referred were turned away.
I am writing to formally express my frustration regarding the handling of my recent referral. I visited Sentara Urgent Care three times over the course of three weeks for persistent ear infections, at which point I was referred to an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist.
