Will not return to this place ever again. Clearly the staff are not on the same page. I came in and told them what I was being seen for. Front desk got my information and charged me for my copay. Shortly after sitting down I got called back. The assistant then asked what I was there for. I explained to her what I needed checked. She did my vital signs and was very kind. Ever since Sentara replaced Velocity, I have had nothing but negative experiences at urgent care. I was seen yesterday for UTI symptoms, I am experiencing severe pain and urinating extremely frequently. The PA reviewed my urine test (urinalysis showed abnormal protein levels, which she did not address until I mentioned it, and she told me that abnormal protein does not indicate a UTI, which is not true) and told me she would not be prescribing anything because there was "no medical need". Sentara Urgent Care in Suffolk, VA!! 5 stars everyone was very nice, accommodating, and friendly. Very thorough and very prompt with their service and professionalism.
Never again, incompetent, inexperienced and defensive PA. I left and went a minute down the street to a different urgent care where I was treated by an experienced provider that knew what was needed to treat me and did so swiftly and effectively.
