If you are reading these reviews because your child is having surgery just know you are in very good hands. Dr. Valez did an amazing job on our 5 month old daughter with a very complex open heart surgery. He is a kind man and skilled surgeon.
This is a low-skilled accident-prone surgeon. If you have any option to go to another surgeon, take that option. Read the other one star ratings and take them seriously. Do not trust your child’s life in this man’s hands. And if God forbid he does surgery on your child, he will avoid ever having to see you or your child again.
My daughter had a VSD, ASD and PDA all repaired by Dr. Velez at 7 months old in 2014 at Phoenix Children's hospital and he did a wonderful job. We were pleased with the care before her surgery, during and after. Her scar healed beautifully and she continues to thrive to this day. I highly recommend him.
