Update: 19 May 26. So as I posted a year ago ramp would be closed for one year. As with everything being done with this project the ramp is still closed with no end in sight. Evidently VDOT gives bonuses for incompetence and being late. This entire project has been one long mess and we the commuting public are paying the price for something that might be better, eventually, someday. I would like to congratulate VDOT for the mess they have created at the intersection of LaSalle Ave. A few months ago you closed the on ramp to 64 for a year. Then you destroyed the off ramp onto LaSalle Ave. Evidently that was not enough, you now have shut down one lane coming from Langley causing a bottle neck at the intersection. The one minute green light is an extra bonus to enhance your incompetence. It's not bad enough that I64 from the 564 interchange to Hampton is totally destroyed with no end in sight, but now you ... read more
It's funny how VDOT can invest into all kinds of Arrow board trucks and TMA trucks around the hrbt, but we never see VDOT tow trucks. It's funny how VDOT has to call an independent contractor or pay an independent contractor to sit in these areas but it simply won't invest in the infrastructure itself and keep it readily available. I-64 around the HRBT is a parking lot most days simply because a vehicle cannot be moved from the lane of travel
