Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been to. I arrived around 10:30 p.m. with COVID-like symptoms but tested negative. I then spent 4 hours waiting for my results and a bed. After finally being seen, I ended up leaving around 3:00 a.m. The wait time was ridiculous, especially while feeling sick. To make matters worse, the nurses left the front desk unattended for over an hour, leaving patients with no one to answer questions or provide updates. This is my second trip to tappahannock for a PET scan and I have zero complaints. Everybody I dealt with was very nice very helpful and very quick. It's about an hour's drive from where I live to get my PET scans and it's always worth coming out here.
Not equipped for real emergency. If you need a specialist pack it up and drive to Richmond. Spent hours waiting for a transfer and getting pushed back because everyone was more sick than my dad who supposedly needed emergency surgery from a specialist according to them. Then if you are in a mental health situation, they think it’s ok to let you refuse treatment without doing anything.
