Bedside manner doesn't exist and its probably the malpractice capital of VA....heck maybe the whole country...this is where you go to die or get misdiagnosed. Just go to Richmond if you know whats good for you. Adding on a few years later and NO SURPRISE. My wife sat for almost 3 hours as they didn't take her pain or circumstance seriously. Her grandpa told them they were leaving and going to South Boston. After the care I received yesterday I will be taking my medical needs elsewhere.
Overall, I had a positive experience. Most of the staff were kind, caring, and professional. However, there were a few interactions that felt dismissive and insensitive. After sharing my concerns, I noticed an improvement, which I appreciated. I hope continued efforts are made to ensure every patient feels respected and valued.
The hospital is great. The billing department is terrible.
I was a little nervous about my husband going to this ER based off of the reviews I read, but my husband did not have much of a choice. That being said, We had a very pleasant experience from everyone we encountered from the security guard and front desk to all the staff that looked after him. He went in for a foot injury around 9pm and we left the ER at 11:30.
