DO NOT recommend this Vet. Took our one year old dog there after several years of taking our dogs there and was treated by Dr. Sheldon herself. It was the most rude, demeaning visit with a Vet we have ever had. She had nothing but bad things to say about our very well taken care of one year old puppy and our care of him. In addition, coerced us to accept anxiety pills (downers) to give to our puppy because he was afraid of her. VCA Shelden Animal Hospital always goes above and beyond the standard. The vet techs are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I have nothing but love for Dr. Shelden and Dr. Dixon. I cannot imagine receiving better care than they provide.
To keep this short, We got a new rescue dog, along with our other dog we have had for 1.5 years, in the mist of all the COVID-19 stuff, our normal vet is closed down (Healthy pets clinic). I eventually called Sheldon Animal Hospital after calling 3 places prior because nobody would accept new patients with a COVID going in. Dr. Peckham was amazing, she helped me with ALL my issues with my new puppy, Archie and my other dog. They were so helpful, thorough, and patient with all my questions. Very friendly and warm place. Truly care about the pets and people who enter the establishment!
After reading my dogs medical record I was emailed I am highly upset. My dog didn’t attempt to bite anyone during the rectal exam. He squealed because someone was putting an object into his rectum without his knowledge. He never tried biting anyone. Also He is a HE not a she, and there was no “escape behavior and avoidance” he shook in my arms. That’s all he did. I never said he had a history of elevated liver enzymes either. absolutely love this place! they always make our boy feel special!
Had our first visit today we our recently adopted 14 week old puppy. They provided a lot of info on puppies. Staff was awesome. Looking forward to our next visit. Think we will continue to use them
