Started out great. It was suggested we join vet care club to ease costs of new puppies we got. (Included free visits, neuter and shots for a premium monthly fee) What they don't mention is once this ends and you are past all that and if you decide to give up the club, they then tell you there is a new appointment for vaccinations but since you don't have the club it is no longer covered. I have been a pet owner for all my life (70 years), and have been to many vets over the years with a variety of creatures. My daughter worked at PetSmart when she was a teenager, and we had reptiles, fish, rodents, cats, dogs, a horse, and a goat. A surprise every payday. I took my 8-month-old puppy to VCA Lakeside Animal Hospital on Tuesday, the 18th. Because I smelled like marijuana, the staff made harsh assumptions and treated me with extreme unprofessionalism. They assumed my puppy had ingested weed and said she would just "snap out of it." As it turns out, she has a broken back, and I may now have to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down. Our regular vet could not get us in in a timely manner so I made an appointment here at VCA Lakeside animal hospital. I was so nervous to go somewhere new since our dog Samantha was pushing 15 years old and I had a feeling this time she might not come home with us. Sadly I was right. It was such a heartbreaking day for us as a family however the way this entire staff handled her and us during it all was so beyond professional!
