We brought our dog here after learning that she had severe thrombocytopenia, possibly caused by an autoimmune response to a distemper vaccine. She had significant rectal bleeding and required multiple blood transfusions. She was in intensive care for 5 days. The care she received at VCA Arboretum View was exceptional. Drs. Van Lanen and Dr. Kaplan and the staff there were so caring and kept us constantly informed of our dogs progress. Don’t take your beloved pet there. Took my dog for stitches for his ear at 3:30pm. They told me 2-3 hours. At 7:30 they had not even started on him yet. At 8:30 I told them forget it just let me take him home with the bandage and I will take him to vet in morning. They now say first 12 hours are critical for infection but apparently not to them! They now make me wait till 9:05 pm to give me back my dog with no bandage and blood still dripping from his ear with a cone in his head and a few prescriptions and have the nerve... read more
