I tried to take my dog here at 8pm. I arrived in the middle of a rain storm to find out that their hours have changed with no notice. This is supposed to be a 24/7 emergency vet! I was told by a tech who finally came to the door that I should take my dog elsewhere. My dog then collapsed in front of her. She went to ask the Dr. if they would see one more patient and the answer was no. So in the middle of a rain storm with heavy flooding I got back in my car and drove to VEG in White Plains.
Morty , the family corgi/hound mix “foster” dog of seven years, was showing signs of extreme fatigue and weakened responses. Our local vet in Mohegan Lake was booked for the day and referred us to Katonah. The vet center was impressive in size and operation. Plenty of onsite parking. Upon entering, the facility reminded me of a hospital for humans. The staff were very pleasant, attentive, and empathetic. I’m not going to lie. I was reluctant to come here based on review ratings. I decided to read each and every review to see what’s up. Our fur babies are our family…our children. We love them unconditionally and when they are sick and helpless, we feel sick and helpless. We are emotionally attached. After an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience elsewhere, we brought our dog to Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center on a busy Sunday, and we could not be more grateful for the outstanding care we received. Dr. Mary Grimes was absolutely fantastic. She evaluated our dog promptly, immediately recognized the severity of his infected paw wound, and started treatment with antibiotics and steroids right away.
