Great location. Dave was extremely friendly. Brad was a little bristly. It's walking distance to tour the prison or the mounds. The onsite laundromat was spacious and very clean. It had one restroom which was also clean. It was not accessible one day for maintenance. The campground itself left much to be desired. Yes there were full hookups, however the grounds were not what I desire in a "campground". Gravel, parking lot, not a campground. Just a storage lot that you can stay at. The staff is friendly and the park is clean. We have enjoyed our stay here.
Get place to stay when your on the road working. Great owners . Nice laundry facility on site if needed. Propane on site. Parts store on site. Pets allowed. It is very quiet and close to all major highways. And has nice size lots even for bigger campers. Gravel lot.
On my maiden voyage in my recently purchased first RV I landed at Varlas Campground and stayed comfortably for two and a half months. First of all Brad, Doug and Dave have been exceptionally helpful and friendly. I am new to RV camping and the Varlas crew made it easy for me. Great price for full hookup, plenty of advice and guidance for a newbie like myself, conveniently located with a great laundromat, parts shop and propane refill station.
