Wow what a place! I've been to Aveda salons around the country and this salon is top notch! Warm welcoming, wonderful atmosphere and fabulous decor! But what really impressed me is the talent that they have!! Several stylist are from the Aveda insitutes and I never had a more glowing shine to my color!!! Not overly impressed I made an appointment by phone several weeks in advance for a pre-wedding bikini wax. When I arrived, they couldn't find my appointment. That happens, so I was patient as they tried to fit me in. The technician spent much of the time trying to sell me various products, especially the application of mink eyelashes (for a mere $395). Not really an Aveda Salon When I moved back to the area I was thrilled that there was an Aveda Salon blocks from where I lived. I have lived all over the country and even in the most backward town, if there was an Aveda Salon I knew I was going to get a fantastic cut and wax. Now I would hardly call Sewickley backward, but this salon sure is.
OK hair, BAD business practices When I called for pricing of a touch up foil and a trim, I was told that foils were around 45 and a haircut was about 35. I was happy, as I am accustomed to paying well over 100 for the same service where I just moved from.
Outstanding customer service! My experience at Van Salon and Spa was so professional and very relaxing, I thought I was on an Island vacation! I had an essential facial and a 90 minute massage and I was at peace. The Aveda products they use are great and the staff there seems very educated in what they do. I am telling all my friends about it and I just wanted to tell some other people that I do not know. You will not be disappointed in any way!
No more eyebrows for me This was 3 years ago. The waxer was late. I wait almost an hour. She came in a rush. She waxed. She burned. She waxed half of my brows off. I had to lie there for an hour with ice compresses on my eyes to take the swelling down and have to ability to drive home. I was in pain. The waxer acted like I overreacted.
