John Bogle would be horrified by the current state of this company. If you like being mailed things when you opt in to electronic documents or things being half done correctly, then Vanguard is your place. Have fun being on hold forever, since their website is useless.
Waste of time and money. Do not use this organization. They will only give you headaches and financial burden. I spent 2 months trying to get an earnings calculation only to be so frustrated I closed all accounts and moved to another financial organization. Night and day difference with other institutions.
I have just spent an hour and a half, mostly on hold, trying to get a year end statement that I was unable to print from my online account. I was transferred and put on hold by two people to whom I explained my request and hung up on by two others when they said they would transfer me to the proper group to make my request. Vanguard really needs to work on their customer service!
These people already make a killing on consulting fees and interest. Then when they mess up my distribution checks they nickle and dime me for another $35. More of an insult than anything. Should've went with literally any other company...
I have been a Vanguard customer for more than 30 years, with most of my life savings in Vanguard Funds. I received a letter from Vanguard telling me that they were making my property unclaimed property under state law -- although they sent the letter to the correct address. Then when I called to confirm my address, I was so rudely treated by the Vanguard representative that although I like the funds, I am seriously considering moving out.
