Dr. Gomes is easy to work with, easy to understand, and connect with, patient, trusting and helpful. It is not a fast or rushed process and I will be honest there were times I did not want to come on I just was not in the mood or it was a rough day but she was patient, did not rush or force me to talk but she made sure I knew she was there and listened. “I honestly don’t even know where to start. Vanessa has truly changed my life. I came to her in a really hard place, and she helped me learn how to actually manage my emotions, work through trauma, and navigate family situations in a way I never knew how to before. What makes her so special is that she really listens. There’s never any judgment, just understanding, guidance, and support. I had a NEGATIVE experience WITH THIS WOMAN; as did my child. We never felt heard by heard or respected. She never seemed to have any helpful advice or actually understand myself or just child and was only on the fathers side with her own agenda. Wouldn’t recommend her for anyone; let alone teenagers. Seems to react towards you like you are wrong unless you agree with her completely; which makes you hesitant to be fully honest with her. Dr. Gomes is a very easy person to talk to. She is empathetic and nonjudgmental. Therapy with her has enabled me to go back to truly living my life.
I’ve been seeing Vanessa just about weekly for a little over 2 years. In that time I’ve made significant strides in several areas of my life that I felt I needed to address, with the help of Vanessa. She’s incredibly kind and thorough, patient and thoughtful about the way she practices therapy. I cannot recommend a more professional therapist, as I’ve not seen one who I’ve been able to mesh with as well I have here.
