This place is great. They took great care of our family member for over three years. Everyone was very kind and caring. Every birthday and holiday was celebrated. They genuinely cared about him and made him feel special and loved. Lydia and each staff member welcomed our family in every way. No one plans on needing end of life care, but this was our best case scenario.
I can tell after two years of my mother with severe dementia and being bed ridden, Lydia and staff have made her as comfortable and happy as a person could be in that condition. Mom always says how great the food is and how helpful the staff is. I know they have a very tough job and I don’t know how they do it sometimes but I am more than grateful! Highly recommend if you are in need.
My mother loved all the staff at Vandermeyer especially Lidia. Whenever Lidia entered her room my mother would smile and light up. It was her end of life stage and hospice care was provided but Lidia always went above and beyond staying up all night with my mother, hand feeding her meals, all the while giving her dignity. Nice and caring facility.
