For those looking for excellent care of their loved one: I continue to be impressed with the care,thoroughness,loveand compassion the staff and management give to their patients at the Vandermeyer House,along with their other homes. I am a full-time music therapist/chaplain -that comes in bi-weekly for the past 3 years, and have "never" seen a patient mistreated or disrespected, no matter how cognizant, or suffering with Dementia, or other memory issues. didn’t even wanna give Lidia one star. We replaced our mother in here due to dementia. She was on hospice, and when the nurses went out, the nurse caught one of the caregiver yelling at her for saying she liked Trump. The caregivers couldn’t read English and messed up her medicine and told the nurse that she wasn’t allowed to give medication but was the only one at the house watching The residence. This place is great. They took great care of our family member for over three years. Everyone was very kind and caring. Every birthday and holiday was celebrated. They genuinely cared about him and made him feel special and loved. Lydia and each staff member welcomed our family in every way. No one plans on needing end of life care, but this was our best case scenario.
