I had a very poor experience with Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital Surgery Center. I was scheduled for outpatient surgery. I scheduled and took PTO, adjusted my medications days in advance, I went onsite for a pre-surgery blood test 2 days prior. and followed the required diet restrictions. On the day of the surgery I arrived at my scheduled time of 6:30 AM, only to be told my surgery was canceled due to an “insurance issue” and that I would need to reschedule. Was brought in at 11a.m. for hand surgery was finally taken back at 230. Everyone went to lunch and I didn't see a nurse for 55 min before they took me back. Had to go searching for a nurse to let them know I was shaking badly and nauseous from not eating. We didn't find one of course but found the lady who helps clean she was nice and called for someone in to talk to us i had not eatin in18hours per there guidelines. I was a little distressed they had to come out and administer antinauseous meds and take measures trying to ... read more

Called because it’s the day before surgery and I am still waiting on my surgery time (makes no sense). Call the front desk. Get hung up on with the first call. Get someone the second call who interrupts to tell me they “don’t work this desk” and “the only reason they answered was because they thought it was an employee”. Then hung up on me again. I get that you are busy and taking care of a patient, and I get answering the phone is not your job, but I’ve worked as a nurse in healthcare and unless someone was actively dying (... read more
