We went in for an annual physical examination as a fully covered preventative visit under our insurance. There was no ambiguity that we scheduled a standard physical, and Vanderbilt is an in-network provider. Vanderbilt unilaterally decided to perform an additional lab that was outside the scope of our preventative examination; they did not receive informed consent for additional services, nor were we aware any services outside the scope of a standard exam were being performed. Horrible. Do not schedule with this office. My mother had a simple change of pharmacy and it took 6 days and 4 calls. Turns out they were withholding her prescriptions simply because they demanded she make another appointment. This is unethical and a deliberate act to make more money via an appt that wasn’t needed. Holding prescriptions hostage for more money and to an elderly person! This is immoral and I will reporting to Vanderbilt compliance and also CMS. They miscoded my appointment and charged me for my annual checkup. I have been trying to resolve this for months.
