It shouldn’t matter if the facility is 1/2 as nice…if the care is 10 times better at Vanderbilt Emergency Department than at Williamson Health Emergency Room!!! Dr. Wallace was my doctor and he was absolutely phenomenal! I arrived at 1:30pm, and at 5:30pm, after my first CT scan (without contrast), my neck had began hurting, so he said he would like to perform a CT scan of my head & neck WITH contrast (which was not his fault at all), if that would be ok with me, but that it would be another 4 to 6 hour wait (because of how ... read more
Horrible experience every single time
We arrived at Vanderbilt ER five hours ago - I lost sight in my right eye on Fri. Fri I saw an opthomologist, Monday am i saw my own opthomologist. Both did a zillion tests. Blood drawn Monday afternoon, 2 head MRIs Tues. Today (Wed) at 1:30 we saw a neuro opthomologist. He sent us directly to Vanderbilt ER since time is of the essence for me to regain my sight. Hes sure they will admit me for 4 or 5 days for spinal tap, plasma exchange, steroid drip, etc. We've been waiting FIVE hours and still waiting to be seen, let alone... read more
Based on our current experience (8 hours and counting) and the many reviews I just read online, this Emergency Department is woefully understaffed or seriously inefficient. The consistent response from the hospital online was they have “high demand” for their services. The logic would be that if that many patients are waiting 6, 8, 10+ hours for care, something is wrong. This has been our first experience with Vanderbilt ER, and if I have any choice in the matter, it will be our last.
