We often travel long distances and pass through Forbes, but for once we stopped for a quick lunch at the Vandenberg Hotel. It had been a long time since we had stopped there, and we didn't know what to expect. What greeted us was a cheerful family oriented team willing to refresh us from the grind of driving. We stopped for pub meal on a Monday night at the Vandenberg Hotel in Forbes. This pub is on the up. Great beers on tap, refreshed, reimagined stock of local, great organic wines and a friendly owner providing excellent service. All the meals are prepared on premises on the spot with fresh local produce. We ordered steaks with an accompanying sauce which were both excellent! Salad was plentiful with a zesty dressing and steak grilled perfectly. I would highly recommend the Vandenberg.

Do yourself a favour if you are in Forbes and have a bevvy or 2 at the Vandenberg Hotel! It's a pub that has amazing energy and the new owner has an incredible vision for this iconic pub! Cosy country feel with the vibe of a bigger city - put it on your go to list!
