“Come on by next month, we take your insurance!” “So, we looked at your insurance, I know the appointment is tomorrow, but the other office takes your insurance. Are you OK with seeing a physician’s assistant instead of a doctor?” “”Why are you here? We canceled your appointment because we don’t take your insurance.”
Unfortunately, I should've read the reviews first. My first impression of Dr. Velso wasn't the best after he seemed to be in disbelief that I was self-employed and able to afford private health insurance. He also suggested that I may recieve better service at a different location in a more desirable neighborhood once he found out this information. In my opinion, Dr. Veloso falls into that unfortunate category of younger clinicians who have become focused on making money at the expense of competent and compassionate care of their patients. Perhaps this is a function of the extraordinary debt young practitioners must carry upon their completion of their residency programs. Regardless, I was always limited in his referrals to other clinicians within the Optum network or the other exclusive provider affiliated with Optum for behavioral health care. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Front desk claim she couldn’t find my insurance when she was just entering the wrong information then ask me to call me insurance to verify once my insurance verified I had an Active plan and the doctor is listed as my Primary Care Physician she continued to ask question in disbelief then prolonging everything. I had an appointment at 3:40pm and arrived on time she made me spend 40min doing all of this just to say “the doctor is actually leaving soon” then offered to reschedule me but couldn’t just ... read more
Dr. Veloso is a great doctor. He care about patients. The problem with him is to belongs to Optum Group.
