Good Prices/ Bad Customer Service Last Christmas we were buying my mother two reclining rocking chairs. We paid for them and they were to be delivered right before Christmas. A few days before Christmas we called just to make sure they would be here by Christmas and we were told, they had sold our chairs to someone else and would not have any more in stock until after Christmas. Decent prices, bad experience I entered Value City Furniture Store in Merrillville/Hobart, Indiana (Route 30) with enough cash on me to purchase a queen size bed of brand-name quality. While questioning a young salesman, it became obvious to me he had gotten perturbed with being asked anything by people regarding price, etc. Basically within a few minutes of conversation, he was pretty much asking me to leave the store, with absolutely no justification at all. I will never buy in Value City Furniture again! Very bad experience! they did not honor the guarantee or the extended guarantee we bought from them. The leather in my couches are peeling and fading away, they told us, "just buy new ones, we will give you a fat discount". Of course we have to buy new ones but we will buy them in a different store. We will never buy in there again! Terrible quality and service!
