Keep this awesome place secret
Pay to get in then you need to pay to pee they are getting a little out of hand. Other than that a great little walk
Beautiful hiking trails. Most paved but some dirt. Up close to the fauna and lava flow. Worth the visit.
Unique and super cool place to visit and camp. There are 19 sites with an additional 6 tent only with stellar views of the lava field. There are two trails you can take. One is around the "island in the lava" and the other is a boardwalk out into the field with interpretive signs. Neither is overly strenuous and well worth the effort. The night skys have been brilliant with stars. 10 sites are reservation only with the rest on a "first come" basis.
