I’ve been a patient of Dr. Alrefai for more than 10 years now. Anyone who has battled mental illness knows of the pitiful lack of resources, especially in North Alabama. While as a young adult I stumbled through the area’s available providers seeking help, only to be misdiagnosed, passed on to ever-revolving replacements & frequently ignored. Always professional. Always courteous. Calls and emails are always returned. Comfortable setting (my appts last 2 hours). Always flexible in scheduling future appts based on need. They worked hard to get me about 4K back from an insurance provider. It took time, but they pulled through.
I’ve seen two different Psych Nurse Practitioners at this facility, first Michelle, second Stephanie. I’m going through an especially difficult time right now and was trying to convey this to Stephanie today over the phone. I explained I was only sleeping maybe two hours a night. She wanted to put me on a sleeping med I knew was not effective and asked for something that has worked for me in the past, THAT SHE PRESCRIBED TO ME. My therapist Marlana is a life changer and Dr. Alrefia my psychiatrist is always very knowledgeable about my medications and keeps me safe with my seizure and other chronic illness medications. Both have great welcoming personalities
They are professional and courteous. John really shows empathy and provides excellent support to work through difficult issues.
