I'd like to say that I had put off contacting an engineering firm for over a year because the problems I thought I was going to have based on my dealings with engineers in the past. I reached out to valentine engineering and spoke with Jim who was honest to god the easiest person I've dealt with in all the trades I've encountered. If I could give him more accolades I would. I reached out to Jim to have him evaluate a residential structure for a client of mine. Rather than charge for an evaluation he provided another avenue that would better suite the needs of my client prior to needing his services. I called and explained an issue I'm having with warped wood in my attic that corresponds with dips in the ceiling below. The person I spoke to was able to determine, over the phone, that the cause of the problem may be the removal of a wall. He explained to me how I could go about having it fixed. He could have charged me for a visit, but chose not to. I very much appreciate the honest approach.
