Hiring a private chef was a splurge for our trip, but one that was absolutely worth it. From start to finish, Val was not only professional, but extremely personable. We so enjoyed our time getting to know her, and hearing a bit of her and her family’s story. She set the table beautifully with flowers from her own garden. The food was delectable. We had such a wonderful experience with Val. From start to finish, everything was thoughtful, personal, and beautifully done. She was incredibly warm, kind, and genuinely lovely to spend time with. The food was outstanding. Val used incredibly fresh, high-quality ingredients, including many organic ingredients grown in her own garden and sourced from the Hawaiian Islands. An elegant birthday dinner and Val is lovely. Recently, to keep food costs down,it seems many restaurants use the same suppliers and while the venue changes from restaurant to restaurant the food is disappointingly similar and full of the seed oils we are trying to avoid. Enter Val: she cooks from scratch using only top quality organic ingredients including all her cooking oils, vegetables, flour and protein. The fish she served was caught that very morning! Val was such a delight for our family dinner in Maui. She was engaging and friendly and the food WOW! You could tell everything was so fresh. My favorite part of our dinner was how she engaged my four year old who was so excited to meet a real chef! I would recommend Val to anyone looking for great fresh food and friendly conversation!
