I had a very negative experience renting one of Gayle's properties through evolve vacation rentals. I rented a property with them through Airbnb, and their listing is misleading. It mentions AC three times on the listing but upon check in we realized that only one of the two upstairs bedrooms had an AC unit. Also, the AC unit was broken and the upstairs was unbelievably hot. I also stayed at a unit owned by Gayle, unit 125 in Kona Islander Inn. The unit had a very bad cockroach infestation, ants, and numerous other problems with cleanliness. I assumed she would take care of the issues when I notified her immediately and provided photos of the conditions. Instead, she was rude and demeaning to us, and since then has lied and disparaged us online in response to our reviews. Roach infestation and other filth in Kona Islander Inn condo. Owner, Gayle Mackey, offered nothing to help and was rude and arrogant to us. I have attached the entirety of the conversation with her before we escalated to an AirBnB complaint. AirBnB has certainly not sided with her. She lies about everything. Gayle owns several different condos in Kona, including many in this same building. Reviews consistently say the same thing: cockroach infestations and a rude host.
