I had a great first appointment here, everything was timely and all my concerns were heard and answered.
I saw someone review saying they were gaslit here and I totally relate. Both doctors I’ve had here did the same thing. Terrible lab results they can’t even call me about. They gave me strong meds with no follow up call or appointment (dangerous). The virtual appointment refused to have a phone call instead of a video call when I was driving to work. Plus her accent was so strong I could hardly understand her. The phone number on Google is wrong so that’s also annoying. VA just can not get good providers.
After a terrible experience with VA community care I begged to get sent literally anywhere else. I was pleasantly surprised to have a doctor that listened to me and gave me options instead of ignoring concerns and gaslighting me.
Trauma informed care is nonexistent here, which is absolutely wild since it’s a clinic for female Veterans. I requested a support person during a very invasive and personal procedure (Keep in mind that everywhere I’ve gone using Community Care has allowed for a support person during invasive procures, exams, whatever it is in order to not re-traumatize or worsen pre-existing anxiety/panic disorder) and was told no, that unfortunately due to “VA Protocol and Procedure” they could not honor my request for a support person pres... read more
