I live in Winnemucca Nv and Reno VA is 167 miles from because I live in a rural area I'm usually sent to hospital ER here for the bast month I've gone to the ER here they dont tell whats wrong it have hives that I have scratched so bad I'm covered in scabs that keep getting scratched so now I look horrible I can't afford the prescriptions at Walmart . Today was my very first visit to the Reno V.A. Hospital E.R. I am experiencing my seasonal and annual COPD exacerbation and had to come in. I am a new Reno resident as of June 2025. I have been to about a dozen different V.A. facilities in CA, and TX, in the past. This E.R. exceeds not only ALL other V.A.'s but even my highest expectations. I've noticed a difference in serious care for Veterans in the last few years and it is not, in my opinion, good. Perhaps it's a reflection of the last Administration so I hope this new one changes things for the better.
Overall I do love most of the staff and have not been treated poorly other than the laboratory area where you do the blood work. This is my second time getting blood drawn from them on the second floor, and they either have been rude or disrespectful, Made it feel like I was inconvenience for their time and or they’re just not very friendly up there mainly the man up there kinda heavy set, facial hair. Definitely upsetting for sure
