High priced terrible food – I recently ate here and was shocked at the quality of the food. Its difficult sometimes to fine a good dairy restaurant. My friends and I wanted to have a really nice dinner - and don't get me wrong, we enjoyed each others company immensely and had a very nice time - but I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. I could be significantly harsher in my review, but to say it simply, I will in the future choose to eat at a day-old $3.95 NYC deli cafe before I would ever again spend the ... read more
Great place. Try their pasta with vodka pink sauce. It's literally to die for. Two thumbs up!
The food here is amazing. The fish is always fresh and the Pasta is homemade. I love the Fettucine al Salmone (fettucine with salmon) and the choclate mouse is awesome!
Ineresting differing opinions – I see all these bad reviews and I wonder. I've been eating there for years and have never had a bad meal nor have I ever gotten my nose out of joint because a waiter seemed cold or imperious. I've eaten in the best restaurants in the world and I have to think that the people who have written such negative reviews either had an anomalous occurrence or are hyper-sensitive and don't know how or when to complain to get what they want.
Attitude!!! – The owners/ waiters thought they were doing me a favor for eatting at their terrible reasturant .
overpriced I understand that one must pay a little more for kosher food, but I have never understood why kosher has to mean simple and underseasoned. I paid well over $20 for something that seemed like macaroni and cheese. I pray for the day when there will be a decent priced or delicious dairy kosher restaurant. The service and atmosphere was nice here, but I am not sure that is enough to draw me back.
SNOBBY SERVICE – I went with a friend of mine who eats only Kosher food. Being an Italian lover, this place seemed like a great choice for us. We made a dinner reservation and I arrived a few minutes beforehand. The head waiter asked me to check my coat and left me at the bar. He then proceed to walk to the seating area - I thought he was leading me to my table, but instead he went to the back and didn't come out for about 5 mins. I ended up asking the bartender if I should seat myself (by the way, the restaurant was complet... read more
A terrible Experience – I had gone to Va Bene with a party of seven. It was my cousin's birthday and one of them is Kosher. The restaurant we were planning on attending was closed for a private party, so we decided to go to Va Bene. When we walked in, we were aked if we would like our coats checked, we declined. They left us waiting for our table, in the mostly empty restaurant for about 5 minutes. Eventually, our waited pointed and said, "the table in the back". A little surprised & off put, we proceeded to our table to wai... read more
Good pasta, snobby service – They have wonderful food and the dishes are good sized and delicious- but the staff is snobby and they tend to rush you out. Also, look at you like you're scum if you come in without a reservation- even though they have the room!
