1/20/2026 6:00pm We went to the emergency room because my husband was choking and having trouble breathing. His hands were seizing up to the point that he could not move them. I dropped him off at the entrance, and he went inside telling them he needed help and that he was choking. The front desk staff told him to fill out paperwork and put on a mask. I have had nothing but exceptional care at Belvidere UW Health emergency department. I have had to use the emergency department several times. From the front desk to the doctors and nurses to the medical imaging department and anyone else I have seen while there, they are very good at what they do! And awesome people too! One of the worst ER experiences I have ever experienced. I brought my gf here after checking in took 45 minutes to even see her then took her to one of the back rooms took another 1hour for even a nurse to come bye and check on her the Dr took another 45 minutes then was dismissive of the pain she was suffering. She couldn't even walk but nurse told her to walk to the bathroom another nurse saw this and asked if she needed help got her a wheel chair and assisted her the only competent person we encountered the whole time the... read more
