Hospital 5/5 tho the tv was a bit in and out but wasn’t too bad 4 is mainly how the e.r was to me. But the e.r also quickly caught that i had something seriously wrong with me :) im very surprised by the 1 stars. The staff was kind to me yes there were times things ran slow like if I was in pain but my dad would go to them and tell them it was urgent and they got there quicker. YES, I DO RECOMMEND PORTER MEDICAL CENTER. My experiences with this facility has been great. I feel as if the staff members here actually care about their patients. They are friendly and accommodating. At other medical facilities, I have had many bad experiences, resulting in no care, no treatment, mistreatment, misdiagnosis, been lied to, been lied about, been insulted, been assaulted, and botched surgeries. I worked here in laundry and was all over the hospital. They send 90 percent of there patients to UVM. I went Monday morning at 8 am and there wasn't a single soul in the waiting room. After barely walking Into the building, and a 3 hour wait, they had me leave, no antibiotics, no ibprofen, nothing. The wait was understood there was apparently an emergency, what's not understood, is how rude the staff were. Very rude, and rushed. I had a fantastic experience at Porter Medical Center’s ER in Middlebury, VT. After a hiking accident, the whole process was smooth and super efficient. From intake to X-rays and seeing the orthopedic team, I was in and out in about 90 minutes! Everyone was kind, professional, and really on top of their game. Highly recommend!
I went to Porter for the first time yesterday, I was in ridiculous pain from a kidney stone. The intake staff there was absolutely fantastic, very professional without being robots, the Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, even the support staff, all of them, very attentive without hovering. Everything happened just as quickly as it could and I was out of there more quickly than I have ever experienced in an ER, with a diagnosis, med orders and follow up set up.
