UVA billing is TERRIBLE. We consistently had to spend hours on the phone to get bills correct. Ortho doctors are ok. The shining light of this department is the prosthetics and brace department. When my son was doing ok the ortho team monitored his condition fine. When they lost neuromonitoring during his procedure (and continued without it) which resulted in a spinal injury, paralysis of his legs for weeks, neurogenic bladder and bowel I became less of a fan. My son has been seen here since he was 8 and the doctors are freely, they make my son feel comfortable and they take great care of him and his situation he's now 17 years old . and we appreciate there help with him
Pediatric Ortho is ok. The doctor was nice but not anything to write home about. I would say a 3 star rating for the Pediatric Ortho office itself. However, they're getting a 1 star because of UVA's billing practices. Even though I meet the income requirements, I don't qualify for financial assistance because I have a 401k that I can't touch for over 20 years from now.
