• I went to UVA ED because had severe problems with J feeding tube, abdominal and back pain, nausea, discharge and pancreas insufficiency and they ordered the test to prove but results did not come back before discharge and doctors told me I could continue the Creon every 4 hours if I felt it was helping but they did not feel needed. I was referred to UVA’s Luminal Gastroenterology Clinic by my gastroenterologist because my case is complex and requires a higher level of evaluation. After waiting for my referral, I received a form letter stating that UVA could not offer me an appointment because they receive too many referrals. I’m writing this review mainly to make anyone who is looking for a second opinion and/or for a new gastroenterologist aware of just how little UVA seems to care, even just to communicate with patients seeking better healthcare. I have tried TWICE since February 2026 to get access to a gastroenterologist/IBD specialist that I can trust knows what he/she is doing.
