Reactive V proactive. One can have the chronic type of mastoiditis caused by recurring ear infections. They call is mild mastoiditis. Sclerosis of the mastoid bone can also result. Even though mild, treatment is required with or with out infection being present. The CT and MRI show it is there. When it is shown to be there on CT, treatment should commence. The uva health ent clinic is an urgent care at the uva campus in Charlottesville VA. The waiting room was too loud and it took me so long to make an appointment
I had to share our experience at this office. We have to drive over an hour to get there - thankfully it's super easy to get to right off of 29 - we arrived 30 minutes prior to our appointment, as we were asked to do. We checked right in, sat down ready to wait 30 minutes (or more) until they called us. We no more than sat down and pulled our phones out and they called us back - 30 minutes BEFORE our scheduled appointment.
