Our experience was considerably less than ideal. Yes, Myeloma is a disease that is seldom treated successfully and hardly ever results in "complete stringent remission". When our daughters light chain numbers were slowly going up from one visit to the next, we asked the doctor if that was normal. He assured us that, "Yes, that's normal".
