I had recently gone back to seeing Dr Botone after being his patient at BSW in Grand Prairie for years. Then BCBS pulled the rug out from under us and he’s no longer in network. I’m really disappointed and upset with BCBS over this.
My visit would have been covered under my insurance. However since I would have been a new patient and not considered “established”, billing coded it differently and it was no longer covered. It Would have cost me $400+ had I not been persistent and spoke with some in billing. When I first noticed and called in I was told it was due to someone inputting my previous insurance that was no longer active. We discussed my current provider and the system reflected a $0.00 balance. After about an hour or so it reflected $400+ again... read more
